15th June - Delivery times!

We've recently had some issues with the time taken to get orders through the system & delivered out to customers. As most of you will know, the business started off as a part time concern supplying boxes to fellow garden railway buffs to house their engines & stock in. As we made more boxes, more orders came in & that's where the problem started. Having a stand at the National Garden Railway Show in April saw the order books swell substantually & shortly after that we made the decision to turn Loco-Boxes into a full time business so we could manage the orders. Remaining part time wasn't going to allow enough hours in the day to get boxes made!

So we've had an extremely busy couple of months since then, box orders have been a little behind, but we're almost on top of the situation now. At the time of writing, the turn round time for orders is currently approximatly 4 weeks. 

We thank all our customers who have been very patient in waiting for their delayed orders. 

 

24th February - End opening boxes are now available for 16mm/G scale!

19th February - We've had some issues with the time that the stain is taking to dry, the colder weather has not helped at all!

So to combat that, all the boxes are now moved into a dedicated, climate controlled drying area once they've been stained. This should help speed up the staining process & get the boxes through the system a little quicker.

 

30th January - The new cradles with the one piece handle option are now available. These enable you to pick up your cradle & loco using just one hand, leaving the other free to carry something else!

We now also have the 'end stop' option too. This enables the loco to rest firmly against the end of the cradle without any fear of it rolling out.

28th December - Huge apologies, but the email system packed up from 08:00 on the 25th Dec until 15:00 on the 28th Dec. If you sent us an email during that time, chances are it's not got to this end! If you did & you've had no reply, please re-send it as all should be back to normal now!

 

17th December - All orders for Christmas have now been dispatched!

 

13th December - Our sub contractor has done sterling work on the fabrication of the cradles, but the purchase of new sheet metal folding equipment has enabled us to bring the whole operation in house.

 

22nd November - Gas page has just been updated to include a photo & more information.

 

19th November - The gas page has now been added. Just a couple of photos & some more info to be put on, should be done by the weekend.

 

14th November - Gauge One boxes have now been added to the range. The technology used in the 'end opening' boxes will soon be available for the 16mm/G scale boxes too.

 

12th November - The 'double' boxes (two loco's side by side) are now in production & will be featured on the website shortly. There is a photo of one on the 'Gallery' page.

 

19th August - More locomotive cradles are now coming off the production line.

These cradles fit directly inside your box with your loco inside them. The engine can be run in from either direction & needs no hands gripping it on it's journey from box to track. The cradle page will appear on the site very soon.

 

20th July 2009 - We've been asked about doing some boxes to keep a pair of loco's in side by side, but with a partition inbetween them - 2 boxes together in effect.
